Old Navy is one of my favorite places to shop and Black Friday is the best. If you're looking for tips to shop Old Navy on Black Friday, then scroll down.
1. We predict the Old Navy Black Friday ad to drop on or around Nov. 5.
In 2018 Old Navy leaked their ad on Nov. 5. We expect to see a similar leak date for 2019.
2. Shop the Old Navy Pre-Black Friday Sale to save at least 40%.
In 2018 we saw Old Navy run a “Pre-Black Friday Sale” as part of their Black Friday campaign. For five days, during the week before Thanksgiving, everyone could save 40% on their entire purchase, in store and online, and Old Navy credit cardholders saved 50%!
The 40% off Pre-Black Friday sale ended two days before Thanksgiving in 2018. The 50% off for Old Navy cardholders sale ended four days before Thanksgiving.
3. Plan for Old Navy to open their doors at 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
If you absolutely have to have your Old Navy Puffer Coat right now, plan to be at the door when they open, which is 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Thanksgiving. Otherwise, you can shop online for many of the same deals.
4. Online deals go live at 12 a.m. on Black Friday.
The Oldnavy.com Black Friday online deals are going to be similar but without any big doorbusters. But you’ll get whatever percent off they offer (last year was 50% off your entire purchase). If you don’t want to leave your house, this is the sale to hit.
5. Skip shipping charges and pick up in the store.
When you shop Oldnavy.com, just check the box at the top of the page “Available to Pickup In-Store,” then select your location. You’ll only see what’s available at your selected store.
When you add an item to your bag make sure you’ve checked the “Pickup In-Store — FREE” button on the same page.
You’ll get an email when your items are ready, and you’ll have up to five days to pick up your items, so you can miss all the Black Friday madness.
If you shop in-store and need something in a different size or color than is available, you can have it shipped to your home for free by ordering it through an Old Navy employee.
6. Or become an Old Navy Credit Cardholder to get free shipping.
During Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2018, Old Navy offered free shipping to all Old Navy credit cardholders with no minimum spend amount.
The Old Navy credit card offers some great perks, like special offers on your birthday and coupons and promos. They’ll also give you $5 to spend in the store for every $100 you rack up. You can use the card at Gap and Athleta, too!
If you choose a card, remember to pay it off right away (the interest sits at 25%!). You might also sign up before Black Friday to avoid any confusion or delays the day you want to shop.
7. You can’t stack Old Navy coupons during Black Friday sales.
There is one exception, and that’s the $5 in-store credit you’ll get for every $100 you spend when you’re an Old Navy credit cardholder. That credit will come during the billing cycle after you’ve made your purchase, though, so if you want that credit for Black Friday, then you’ll need to earn the points in October.
8. Buy discounted Old Navy gift cards on Raise.com to save up to 7%.
9. Everyone will probably get 50% off their entire purchase for Black Friday, both in-store and online.
The main Old Navy Black Friday sale in 2018 was 50% off your entire purchase. This is a benefit if you don’t want an Old Navy credit card. If you have one, you get this deal already, so skip the madness and shop before Black Friday.
10. Old Navy Clearance will be excluded from Black Friday percent-off deals.
Sorry, guys, but this just isn’t the time to shop clearance deals. Also excluded will be gift cards, register-lane items, jewelry and today-only deals.
11. Plan to get your cozy socks for $1!
This is a popular Old Navy Black Friday deal, and we expect to see the same thing or something similar for Black Friday 2019.
There’s usually a limit of 10 per customer, and you have to be present in the store to get them, so plan accordingly!
12. Score cheap cold-weather accessories to use as Doorbuster deals.
In 2018 we saw cold-weather accessories — like knit hats and gloves — drop to as low as $4 each. They make the perfect stocking stuffers. Here are a couple of our favorite examples from last year:
13. Wait for Doorbuster deals on coats for the whole family.
We love the coat deals we see at Old Navy on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. In 2018 Old Navy had puffer jackets for the entire family starting at just $20.
14. Black Friday deals will be good Thanksgiving through the following Saturday.
The Black Friday deals start on Thanksgiving Day at Old Navy, and they’ll run many of the same deals through the following Saturday.
Doorbusters, like the $1 cozy socks, will only be available on Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday, though.
15. Snag Old Navy Super Cash on your purchase totals before coupons.
You can expect Old Navy to offer $10 in Super Cash for every $25 you spend in store on Black Friday.
Old Navy Super Cash is earned on the amount of your purchases before all applicable discounts are applied and before tax is imposed. So, if I spend $50 then use a 30% off coupon, I will get rewards as if I actually paid $50 rather than $35!
16. Expect similar deals at Old Navy during Cyber Weekend.
In 2018 everyone — Old Navy cardholder or not — scored 50% off their entire purchase online the weekend after Black Friday, what they called #Cyberweekend. That’s the same sale we saw in stores on Black Friday!
Old Navy credit cardholders will likely get free shipping, and everyone else will have a minimum — probably $50 — that they’ll need to hit to score free shipping.
Or, you can shop items available in your store and pick up for free.
17. Cyber Monday deals will be good through Tuesday.
Don’t panic if you don’t get your Oldnavy.com order first thing Monday morning. You’ll get the deals through Tuesday.
18. You’ll snag a freebie with your Cyber Monday order, but you’ll miss out on picking up your order in store.
Last year Old Navy offered free cozy socks with every Cyber Monday order. The catch was that the order had to be shipped, so you couldn’t shop online and pick up at the store.
Your freebie is only worth it if the value exceeds any possible shipping costs (in this case the socks were valued at $5.99). Make sure you’re buying enough to get free shipping, or the freebie might not be worth it.
